Life is All About Choices

Life is all about choices, When we cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. We ourselves choose how we react to situations. We choose how people affect our mood. We choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's our choice how we live our life.

Adapted from Life Is All About Choices

===========================================================

Recently, I had to make a lot of choices or rather, I have been thinking a lot these days about my life in the future. This is not the first time I thought about it.

I have been watching the series - Heroes. In the series, people make important choices and some of them are struggling between choices because their decision will change the world. Yeah, "Save the cheerleader, save the world!"

I leave the last episode till next Thursday as I will be away for event for the next 2 days. Grand Finale konon.

Back to my topic about "My Future"... it is about my career, my life and also my needs and my goal. Let me briefly tell you what is my thought.

Long Term Goal
I want to run my own business. This has always been my dream since college years

Short Term Goal
- Do well in my current job. Sing as much as I can
- Earn as much as I can and save them
- Get a girlfriend?
- Be famous?

Something like that... but not exactly (of course I cant tell you in detail, my blog is being read by many people...*grin*)

No One is Above the Law...

Yeah Right?!

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government's policy from the start has been not to intervene in the use of the Internet by people, including bloggers, who are free to use cyberspace to do "proper things", said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

However, the Umno vice-president said that if irresponsible bloggers go overboard in their Internet postings, the Government would be forced to step in.

"If they go overboard and insult, slander and break the laws, they will not get away scot-free. No one is above the law.

Adapted from http://star-techcentral.com/tech/story.asp?file=/2007/7/27/technology/20070727113315&sec=technology

====================================================

Are you sure no one is above the law?

Traffic Police do not dare to issue summons to Big Shots. Is that supposed to justify the sentence "No one is above the law"?

It is a point to ponder....

So Now We Know...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was shocked when I read the news over TheStar Online this morning.

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have been duped into paying RM5mil for imitation spare parts for their patrol cars and police vehicles.

Tan Sri Musa Hassan,“We want to know how long these activities (cheating) have been going on and if any police officer or personnel is involved.”

Adapted from http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/7/22/nation/18358351&sec=nation

Yeah, thanks for finally realizing that you have been duped for such big amount of money for car repairs and such! Isn't this silly?

Another article that shows the late-discovery of Malaysian Gov is the water bottle issue. Most of us have heard about the danger of reusing water bottle that may cause sickness and such long ago. I've heard of it since my primary school time (which is about 10 years ago) and only now that our MOH warn people that such act is dangerous.

People that don't know might thought, "Wow~! This is a great discovery" or "Wah, government is giving us good warning"... bla bla bla...

Why is our government so slow? Perhaps we do not have enough funding to make such research or discovery? Fund part, I'm sure you know where it went to (yeah, we got cheated for fake parts *giggles*). Read articles in Internet and you will find plenty of research reports about the water bottle thingy and for some reason, I think our researchers do not read the Internet.

It took them long enough to find out the reason why MAS is losing money too. There are simple too many parties that is leeching money out from their (MAS) pocket... Muahaha... So much for a National Airline Service! They (MAS) were also duped! Muahaha....

Oh yeah, why they wanna use the word 'duped'?

According to http://www.dictionary.com/... Dupe means "a person who is easily deceived or fooled; gull. "

Does that mean our police force is a organization that is easily deceived or fooled? I wonder...

Sure or Not?

One minute, we are worried about whether we have anough money to feed ourselves and the next minute, we are worried if the news we heard / read is real or... not.

KUALA LUMPUR: With immediate effect, the price of rice will revert to what it was before the increase on July 1.

Adapted from: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/7/10/nation/18257395&sec=nation

So now what? No price increase for rice... Good! Bravo! This was by far the most delightful news everyone heard last week. But, will the decision last for long? Let's hope we will not see another headline that says price of rice will increase... blah blah blah...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My colleagues and I went for a dinner at Le Meridien last Thursday.

That is the first time I tasted Evian (Another ever-wonderful water, after Perrier). It tasted better than Perrier (at least it doesn't taste like soda water).

It was quite a busy week but I managed to overcome it. There was an event last Thursday where we need to do setup on the day before. In which I missed the "premiere" of the song that I wrote. Many friends of mine called me and ask if I will be there for the "premiere". I told them the bad news and they were quite... disappointed.

Nevermind, I guess I can't ditch my job and attend the "premiere".

Friday was the dinner, Thank You Dinner, for 2 big events that we organized. We had such fun and as usual, I cracked plenty of jokes and everyone laughed their arse off... Haha... Then they had Karaoke session. That was the first time I rejected a Karaoke offer! Well, the reason is because I had promised my friend to go for a movie, Transformer.

Saturday was rather a busy day as I was helping in an event in the morning. Despite sleeping at 4.30am in the morning (after the midnight show), I woke up at 8.30am, took a shower then head straight to the event venue. I was a bit blur then but after a packet of fried rice and some water, I felt fresh again! After the event, I came back home straight away and slept for 3 hours!

Today, Sunday, was rather a un-productive one... I woke up at 7.45am to wash my clothes and socks. Then played a game of DoTA with my landlord and I took a 2-hour nap... Haha... Woke up, took my shower and head to Ikano Power Centre, The Curve and Cineleisure... Just to relax a while cos I really have nothing to do... Had my dinner at Ikano and came back...

I just finshed a game of DoTA earlier before I start posting...

Well, tomorrow is going to be another hectic day... What a start for the week uh?

Price and Rice...

I read The Star that day and I saw this tag line - "The price of rice is up again – this time by 10%. This is the second time the rice price was increased this year. The last round was in April."
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/7/5/nation/18219558&sec=nation

So, price increase for rice twice in 6 months? That is outrageous. I still wonder if we can still afford to eat normal white rice as fragrant rice and other rice will cost... even more expensive!

Like any other people will say: "What also increase, only salary never increase..." I beg to differ the statement and to rephrase it as, "Our salary increase very much slower than other things..."

See, all of us get increment working for someone else... it's a matter of whether the increment is enough to cope or is fast enough to catch up with the price increase in raw materials and such.

Then there is this article about being more caring, says our PM.

"Be a caring society. Do not think twice about doing charity for the poor, regardless of their race and creed. Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi made this plea to all Malaysians to help the Government wipe out poverty in the country."
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/7/5/nation/18222934&sec=nation

Alright! Allow the price increase of raw material and food to happen and then ask us to give / contribute to the charity?

Robert Kiyosaki once said, "Only give / contribute to the charity if you have extra money"

The golden question is, "How on earth can we have extra money, when everything that we need to buy, is so expensive?" And who will care for us if we have no money to buy things that we need?

Help the government to wipe out poverty in the country? Haha... stop using tax payers' money to build big buildings, offices. Instead, give it to the poor, give them food, clothes, education so that they can be independent in the future.

If the government is gonna use the money to build... some big gov building / offices and spend money on landscaping and decorative to a place where no one want to go (e.g. Putrajaya...), they might as well use the money, to "wipe out" poverty!

That is what I think... I do not know what i the government's plan in financing or whatsoever. In a layman's way of thinking, there is for sure a better place / avenue to spend this money.

END.

Rhythm of Love

Bad News: I didnt manage to translate my previous post into English...
Good News: My first ever lyric is being used in a singing competition...

Rhythm of Love, that is the theme song for the singing competition that is currently ongoing in INTI International University College. It is a competition that involves a lot of people, internal and external.

As mentioned in my previous posts, I was invited to be the judge for the competition, both Audition and Final. Unfortunately, I have event setup the day of the Finals and therefore, I have to (sadly) reject the offer.

However, the committee also asked me to write the lyric of the theme song for them. I was struggling for a while when I first heard the music. It sounded like a motivational song so I asked the committee what they have in mind. They told me the same thing.

So it took me 4 days to listen to the song and 4 days to finished the lyric writing.
Day 1 to 4 - Listen to the song
Day 5 to 6 - Writes the lyric
Day 7 to 8 - Proofreading and modification

It may looked like a simple process but the amount of 'energy' used is unpredictable! Haha... choice of words, the matching of the syllabus and such really made me mad.

Well, now that I have experience (yeah right...) in lyric writing, I might try to come up with more lyrics with a condition. Someone must provide me with the music first.

I shall post the lyric here once the competition is over.

I read this article years before. Recently, I thought of shring it with my blog readers who can understand Mandarin. I will try to translate to English tonight.
