tomorrow is 1 September 2006...

and it's gonna be my 10th day in my new company Crystal Edge Sdn Bhd (will talk more about it later)... I will need to go to KL Convention Centre later at 7.30am ... event going on on the next monday so i have to go and attend some meetings with the hotels and the venue banquet...

work at the moment = "so far so good"... except for the VERY odd hours that i have to cope with. Especially without transportation.... kinda "paiseh" to ask my friend to come and fetch me cos he has to come out again from the house... by the way, that "friend" i was mentioning is my roommate... everyday i will ride on his car to work cos his office is nearby mine...

Colleagues are all kinda friendly... but when datelines and urgent matters come up... they are furious... so i rather not talk to them when they are busy... things might go wrong. I went out for lunch with a few of them... they really have a lot to talk whereas i will just listen quietly while eating... cos i really do not have anything to tell because i am not familiar with the places around... if they were to ask me about my hobbies and things that are related to me (or my previous work) then i will have a topic to talk on...

sometimes, i feel that whether i did make a right choice or not... working at odd hours is what i have not been doing for the past 2 years... imagine the level of stress and the amount of sleepless nights that i have to cope with... normally, i release stress through eating, playing basketball and event singing... i guess eating is easy but now again, i have to be cautious about my food intake... although i may not have time to take care of it due to the busy hours...

nevermind... i guess i can still cope with it... hopefully i will not turn into a zombie or whatsoever.... i really enjoy the opportunities of meeting people... talk to them, make friends and who knows, next time i might be getting great deals from them in the future...

i will talk more about my job and the upcoming event (Microsoft TechEd 2006 SEA) in my next post... hopefully i get to post during the event... Oh, not to forget... my frist experience visiting Microsoft Malaysia's office...

Stay tune guys and girls ~!

life without internet is like fish living in a leaked aquarium.... everything seemed to be "lost"... haha... it's like living behing the hedge... not knowing what is going on in the world outside...

i went back to Bukit Mertajam, my house, last sunday... it was a long ride. i missed the 5pm bus because of the KL jam and i resorted to board the 7.30pm bus... i was back home at about 12am... haha... my cat has 3 kittens...

nothing much, except for watching tv, i see the doctor... haha... my mom was sort of paranoid with my blood sugar level... yeah... it's kinda high but luckily, the reading was lower than the first half of the year... about 2 - 3 readings lower :D

doctor prescribed some medicine for my cough too... i was coughing for almost 1 month now and i had to do an x-ray test to see if i have any lungs infection or not... luckily nothing bad happen. it's only my throat, it's swollen due to too much screaming and singing.... intensive training :D

well, everything seemed to be ok now that i am back to damansara :D i was back yesterday... i will start work next monday... kinda nervous though... hope all my colleagues are as friendly as i expected...

hmmm... lunch time now... i guess i need to go get some lunch before i die starving... (been fasting for days cos i need to go get my blood test ^_^)

DiGi second quarter profit rises 78%
BY B.K. SIDHU and GOH EE KOON

PETALING JAYA: DiGi.Com Bhd has posted an impressive 78% rise in net profit to RM200.6mil for its second quarter ended June 30, compared with the previous corresponding period. This is due to gains from more focused segmentation, enlarged distribution reach and enhanced value propositions. Earnings per share rose by 43.4% year-on-year to 26.7 sen.

---------------------------
The above is one news that I am really impressed of. Even without 3G, Digi posted 78% rise in net profit for its second quarter this year compared to the same quarter in 2005.

Six Questions in Life

It’s already the end of 2nd month of 2006 in the blink of an eye. Before time moves on, it’s good to take a stepback and think of what lies ahead. Time to take a pause and question what is life all about, and what are the most questions each of us a faced with.

I was inspired to write the piece below after attending a sermon for Friday prayers. All the things that has been said makes a lot of sense, and in each of these questions there is a lesson to be learnt. Let me share this with you.

The first question is “What is the nearest thing to us in this world?”

Some might say our parents, our teachers, our friends. All this may be the correct answer, but the best answer is the closest thing to us is Death. It is known that all living things will eventually die. And on the Day of Judgment, we will receive our blessing for our deeds. To those who are granted the passage to heaven, then that person is truly a devoted servant of God.

Life on earth is nothing but a distraction and a test of our devotion to God. So in a sense, although we are busy with work and other worldly things, do not forget God, for He is around us. Please spare a few minutes each day offering Him our prayers and thanks for all that we are blessed with.

The second question is “What is the furthest thing from us in this world?”

Some might say China, the moon, the sun and the stars. Again these answers are correct, but the best answer is The Passing of Time. We will never be able to turn back time no matter what thus we should make the best of our days and we should not spend our days doing things which are not beneficial. I guess this is really true, that many of us do not use the time we have to the best of our abilities. I think we all should allocate time doing things that matters most, such as studying, working and completing whatever tasks that we have. Once the time is gone, it is no use asking for more time or to regret for not completing our tasks when we had the time.

The third question is “What is the Biggest Thing in this World?”

Some answers are mountains, the earth and the sun. But the most accurate answer is our Lust. Humans have been given a heart but it is not used to gain knowledge, we are given eyes but it’s not used to witness the creations of God Almighty, we have ears but it is not used to hear God’s verses. In fact, we are like animals, if not more ignorant and careless, and for these people there is only one place, which is Hell.

Our carelessness and ignorance can be attributed to our lust. Therefore we should always control our lust so that it does not overwhelm us and also to avoid us being categorized as those who will suffer on the Judgement Day. So from today onwards, let’s make a stand not to give in to our lust easily and be misled.

The fourth question is “What is the Heaviest burden in the world?”

The answer is not steel, elephants and mountains. The correct answer is Trust and Integrity. All of God’s creations, be it the sky, earth and mountains have rejected the trust given to them and this responsibility now falls into the hands of humans, which is neither intelligent nor responsible. Today, we can see humans caught up in the rat race to be a leader without realizing their own strengths and weaknesses. Therefore many have failed to make good leaders, blinded by riches and their fantasies, therefore unable to distinguish the good from the bad resulting in the failure to uphold the burden of Trust placed on us. Try to imagine a world without trust. Try to imagine having friends but none of them can be trusted. How we do turn to in times of turbulence? That is why in my humble opinion, trust and being trustworthy is very important.

The fifth question is “What is the Lightest (easiest) thing in the world?”

Some might say cotton, the wind, dust or leaves. But the true answer is “Forgetting to Pray.” It is very easy for a person to forget to perform his/her daily obligations because of being too caught up with work. This is wrong because most prayers only take up 10 minutes of our time. How do you expect God to help you out in time of need when you have been ignoring all the while? God will only help those who keep Him close to their hearts. God has made it easy for us to perform our prayers, and yet some of us chose to neglect God. We should always remember God in times of health and wealth, so that if one day we face any trouble, God will help us out eventually.

The sixth question is “What is the Sharpest Object in the World?”

The sword might be sharp, but the sharpest thing is out tongues and words we utter. Because of our words, someone might easily take offence and feel hurt be it our parents, our spouse and even our friends. So it is advisable in order to achieve a good afterlife, one must strive to control our tongues, be mindful of what we say and also not to hurt anyone with harsh words. All of us should be mindful of what we utter each day.

We shouldn’t slander others, nor should we tell lies. We might forget what we said, but remember that God never forgets. If we see someone who’s better off, please do not feel jealous and utter words to bring that person down. Instead we should be happy for that person and pray to God that we ourselves are given the same opportunity.

In conclusion, if all of us were to examine and understand the above teachings, I’m sure all of us would be a better person and that we all can co-exist with each other in harmony.

I cannot believe that it is August now... one month plus away after my recent post...

Sigh... things are not going very well... work is too much... too many events going on in one month...

It's not that i dont have time to update my blog.. it's the tiredness that caused this devastating disaster!

Let me put everything in a summarize context...

Graduation Ceremony was on the 7 and 8 of July. On the very same day, i handed in my resignation letter. Yes, I have resigned from INTI and my last day of service is next Wednesday (9 August 2006).
It is a sad incident for me because i will be missing all the friends i have here. I will also miss all the things that happened to me and people around me. The sweet and bitter experiences and memories.

Then there was the i-Challenge. Then Jogathon... there are events almost every Saturday! Not to mention working on the weekdays.

Fast Forward... I bought a new 2nd hand mobile phone... yes, it's a Motorola V360 and this is the number 14th in my list of phones.

Motorola V360 (EDGE, Bluetooth, PTT)

I sold my Nokia 6630... plan to get another phone and sell my Nokia 3100. But that is also in planning stage. No confirmation on that plan yet.

I am currently busy preparing for my leave. Handover notes, meeting friends and colleagues, farewell dinners to attend to too. I am afraid that i might be too sad during the dinners... You know, there are too many things that kept me strong over here... will talk about it later...

I might be writing tonight as well. Hopefully i can finish my office work earlier.
