5 More Days...

Yes, 5 more days till October comes...

Thought of continuing my Low Carbo Diet again but this time, more extensive diet.

Last month, I skipped as much rice, noodles and bread as I can. This time, the diet will include skipping drinks with sugar, and totally NO rice~! Which means, if I go to mamak stalls, I can only eat 1 roti canai the max.

Then the reward (rice meal) can only be on every forthnight. One serving of rice is the max.

After 30 days, I think I can lose another 2-3kg or maybe more if I am more disciplined.

Let's see how it goes.

Losing Weight? Losing Inches?

As the title says.

Yes, I did lose 2 kg and also... 2 inches off my waist!

I discovered the 2-inch lost when I was shopping for pants on Saturday. As usual, I asked the sales attendant to get me a size 38 pants (slim cut, no pleats). I went in the fitting room and I was shocked that I can almost slip my hand in my pants!

I went ahead to get myself a size 36 pants (slim cut, no pleats & with double pleats). To my surprise, I can fit size 36! Too bad the slim cut pants is a little tight. As I was about to decide the pants that I wanted, I went ahead to try the jacket out, size XL. I cant fit size XL!

I checked on the internet, size XL is for guys that has a maximum of 48" chest. I need a XXL jacket and that means I have a chest measurement of 48 - 52 inches! Wow... I didnt know I have such big chest! Muahaha~!

Well, I thought the reason why my bermudas and my casual pants are loose is because of long period of wearing them. Somehow, there is a theory that our pants and shirts will get looser after many times of washing. I also thought it is the stretching of the leather that made me "poke" another hole through my belt because it is getting looser too.

Now that I am size 36 (waist), it can only prove that working in Klang Valley is not really "healthy" in a way because it can cause inches-losing!

Yay~!

Too many things...

Hah... it's been long since I post anything in my blog.

Well, now that the event (the one in KL Convention Centre) has over, it is time to concentrate on some smaller scaled events. The past 7 days was kinda... unproductive because I need time to rest myself, physically and mentally. It was a hard transition... I worked on the Monday right after the event. Hah~

Many things happened during the event. It is fortunate for me that all are managable. There are a lot of things that made me a better person. I've learnt how to make critical decisions and I've learnt how to listen, observe and judge properly. I was indeed a very fruitful experience for me.

Though there might be a lot of sweet things happened during the event, I somehow felt that that 8-day event is just another stepping stone for me to venture further, to push my potential to the max and also to see how far I can go / last.

Recently, (well, not exactly) I fell in love with a song call Umbrella. Yes, the one sand by Rihanna.

I got many versions of the song, the original and remix. I especially love the remix that features Chris Brown.

I like the chorus, there are 2 types of chorus for the song.

The Original

When the sun shines
We’ll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath Imma stick it out 'till the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we`ll still have each other
You can stand under my Umbrella
You can stand under my Umbrella

Chris Brown Remix

when the sun shine
we'll shine together
you know ill be here forever
although its alot of rain outside
girl its gettin late and you can stay the night
but you can dip out anytime whenever
i can call a cab i aint tryna stress ya
im looking for the one with the glass slippa'
baby girl you can be my cinderella
you can be my cinderella

I like the lyric and the music. Never fail to make my day!

2. a male given name: from a Greek word meaning “manly".

It also means...

a strong man

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Muahahaha.....

I'm Tired vol. 1

The subject above is a very subjective one. It can be "I'm tired of certain thing" or "I'm tired, physically".

I thought I can stand the physical tiredness but in fact, I couldn't.

I was in a conference as the organizer for 8 days consecutive. Each day sleeping less than 5 hours (some days less than 4 hours). I think it is because of my mind taking over my body, that's why I do not feel as tired when I was in the event.

After the event, I still have to be there for the move out of our things. That took about 6 - 7 hours. After that, I almost drove the whole time. I drove my friend back, went home and pick my friend up for an after event party. We went for a drink after the party and my friend wants to go clubbing, which is not my cup of tea. So I drove them there and I went to get some petrol and make a few rounds before picking them up for supper.

I drove my friend back after that and went home. I reach home like about 5.30am. I still feel fresh that time. But once I got on my bed... I woke up at 9.30am to take a bath (yes, i will feel very uncomfortable if I sleep without bathing first) then continue sleeping at 10.30am till 2.00pm in the afternoon.

Everything was fine until after dinner. I decided to lie on my bed while watching Naruto (Japanese Animation). God knows why, I woke up at 7.00am today! That is like 9.00pm till 7.00am... 10 hours straight!

I didnt know that I was so tired, physically that I need such long hours of sleep. There are a lot of things to do today (wash my car, laundry and such) so I hope my rest on Saturday is sufficient.

One More Year to Quarter Decade

Today is my birthday.

Still Blogging... Still Alive....

Yes, I am still alive here in KL Convention Centre.

I still have some time here to blog while waiting to go back to the hotel to take my shower and come back for meeting.

Today is the 3rd day of the event and I am still standing. The first day was a bit "messy" but everything is under control. 2nd day was smoother with all the sessions running. Somehow, the system was created on the first day. So, we just followed and everything goes well.

Tomorrow will be the last day of the event. I'm delighted but kinda sad because there is this "bonding" of me and the venue and the staff here. I made new friends here because there are a lot of new staff here.

I will still have to stay here until 14 September 2007 to monitor the move out of all the things.

What a week huh? Last Friday till this Friday. Tired but enjoyable~!

Boleh-Land Story vol.2

It's all about education in Malaysia, again.

Following the Boleh-Land Story vol. 1 posted earlier, I hereby continue to write about the education system, after reading the Budget 2008.

So now, schooling in Malaysia will be essentially free starting from 2008. Essentially? Let's see...

According to www.dictionary.com, the word "essentially means...

1. absolutely necessary; indispensable: Discipline is essential in an army.
4. being such by its very nature or in the highest sense; natural; spontaneous: essential happiness.

Exactly what does it mean by "essentially free"? Does it mean by,

1. It is necessary to be free?
4. Suppose to be free?

Then? The same question for both meaning... "Why only now?"

I do not know how our gov budget OUR (as in tax-payers') money neither do I know why they decided on certain things. Still, I'm sure we wanna know, "Why Only Now?"

Millions of Ringgit has been spent for the past few years but it was never FREE for Education.

This was adapted from TheStar Online.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
SCHOOLING in Malaysia will be essentially free from next year.

This is because the annual school fees of RM4.50 for primary schools and RM9 for secondary schools will be abolished under Budget 2008.

Textbooks will also be provided free to all students through the Textbook Loan Scheme.

The examination fee for the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) will also be abolished from next year.

Adapted from http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/9/8/budget2008/18824597&sec=budget2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

STAM? Why not STPM? SPM? UPSR?

Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (Malaysian Higher Religion Certificate?) If it is "Religon", can we take any religion as one of our subjects? I am very doubtful. Let's not continue this topic here as I might end up in jail...

All in all, I am glad that it happen NOW rather than a few more years later. I am very grateful to the gov has actually allow all students to loan text books! Then students will have more budget to buy Revision Books (because Revision Books simply has more information than our text books). Now they should "essentially" allow all student to loan text book years ago!

Another line from TheStar Online.

---------------------------------------------------------
BUDGET 2008 is a happy one where everyone got something and no extra tax was introduced as even the smokers and drinkers were spared.

3rd of September

What happened on 3rd of September that is so significant that I need to blog about it?

On 1939 - World War II begins when France, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia declare war on Germany after the invasion of Poland, starting the Allies.

And on 1995 - eBay founded.

Also on 2007 - My first time coming back from office at 11.10pm. Latest record time.

Oh it's what you do to me...

Recently, I noticed this song. It was being played on the radio for the past few weeks and they are still playing it.

It is something like the Pearl Jam - Last Kiss. The song is about a couple that is in 2 separate parts of the world. The guy promises the girl that he will work hard and one day they will see each other again and they will live happily ever after.

Here's the lyric...

Hey There Delilah by Plain White T

Hey There Delilah
Whats It Like In New York City?
Well I'm a thousand miles away

But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Time Square cant shine as bright as You
I Swear Its True

Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it's my disguise
I'm by your side

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
but we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do
You'll know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you
This one's for you

Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me

It's September !

So, we have come to the month of September, the month where I always waiting for. Yes, some of you might know what is the reason - It's the month when I was born.

Hmmm... Many things happened during last few Septembers; some are sweet, some are rather, bitter. All in all, they were enjoyable and memorable!

This year is rather special then the other Septembers. This September marks the 2nd year of me, working in Klang Valley. I have never thought that I would 'survive' this long. Despite the uncertain working hours and crazy requirements to abide, I managed to learn more than what I expected. I know more people whom some has changed my life, the way I think, the way I see things and the how to react / respond to it.

This September will be my 24th anniversary. Sometimes, when I think back, I really have a lot of things that are "not accomplished". It might be that I didnt really grab the chances or I didnt have any opportunities to make it happen.

Come to think of it, I might be letting things go on for granted. Like believing in the concept of "Let It Be" or "It's meant to be like that". I think that is really bad and still I am doing it sometimes.

It is not that I do not believe in "making things work" or "change your destiny". I have manage to make things work the way I want, the way it is possibly done when others think that it is not and also I have successfully create surprises that has changed how others think about me.

I have a friend that strongly believes in "Destiny". She (Yes, she is a female) constantly reminded me about believing in destiny. She always say things like "It is destiny if bla bla bla does not happen or happen", "I have gone through many things and that made me believe in destiny".

No offence, but I think believing in destiny has somehow, became an excuse for us not to do certain things that can change the outcome of certain incident. It is also an excuse for us to do things that some people might think it is ridiculous.

For me, I strongly trust that I can change my "destiny". For instance, I was never really popular until I decided to grab the chance to go on stage as Master of Ceremony for a college event. If I were to reject my friend's offer at that time, I would never be seen or heard in public.
It is true. I was never seen or being noticed. After I hosted the event, I became an instant celebrity, an overnight celebrity ('cos the event was held at night). Many event organizers looked for me and I was filled with lots of offers from events, large and small scales.

I was delighted and I enjoyed the fame. People see me as an icon in public. People start to talk about me (bad or good) and more people that I dont know, know me!

But everything has to come to an end. I was no longer involved as there are many new people and the events need some new faces. So, after more than 40 (big and small) events, I somehow "retired" and became the veteran. Haha... I was considered a veteran when I was only 20.

So, DESTINY... Do you still believe in it? or, Can you change it?

I hope this September will be a good one! Peace~
