Last week, Maxis (Hotlink) launched a new promotion under its Hotlink Reward Plan. They called it the Maniac Monday. That promotion is opened to all Hotlink (Maxis 012/017 Prepaid User) users to send 1000 SMS for only RM1.00.

It is only valid every Monday in the month of May 2006. This is indeed a great news for all SMS-freaks, or rather SMS users as they can now SMS for almost FREE~!

But the service provider didnt expect that when 6 million users use the Maniac Monday service and send one or two SMS(es) at one time... it would be chaos! Guess what? last Monday, the SMS server of the service provider really jammed up! I can even send one sms and sms sent by my friends only arrived after 10 - 15 minutes!

Well, im not an expert in telecommunication industry or whatsoever but it's common sense! When you have too much traffic at one time -> traffic jam! what if there is an emergency and the victim cant get through the line because it was jammed up by a SMS promotion?

Tomorrow will be the second Monday of May 2006 and Maniac Monday is up again. Guess what will happen then... Just my 2 cents... you can comment too by clicking on the comment button down there...

ok now, after the SE T630... I've changed to SE K700i (my another dream phone). The SE K700i was priced at RM1699 when it was first released 2 years ago...

Sony Ericsson K700i

Then of course, I sold my Nokia 6510 to a guy... a Malay guy... and i got myself a Nokia 3100. Nokia 6510 has GPRS and stuff like that but then i wanted to upgrade to a colour phone. Too bad, Nokia 3100 does not have Infrared, No Radio, and doesnt support MP3...

(yeah, like you dont know how to read)

I sold my SE K700i after 3 months. I was left with no phone at that time... so i used my Nokia 3100 as my primary.

Oh... the latest phone that i am using now (after k700i) is Nokia 6630. It has 3G, bluetooth and other stuff but doesnt have infrared... This is my first Symbian OS phone . It is the most powerful Symbian OS phone, same as Nokia 6680, Nokia N70 and N90.

Well, you may ask me what phone will i be using later... Hmmm... there are a few phones that I might try like SE W800i, Nokia N70 and such. Unfortunately, those phones are out of my budget.

Anyway, I hope you guys are entertained by my "handphone blog"...

See ya...
